Gentle Years Yoga

Gentle yoga is a mindful, slow-paced class, offering the space to explore yoga practices with the support and comfort of a chair, making it ideal for folks with injuries, limited mobility or anyone who thinks yoga isn’t for them.

The session focuses on reconnecting with the body, breath, mind and soul with a range of yoga practices, including asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras (hand gestures), meditation and relaxation.

We begin each class seated in a chair and gently build towards standing, with options to modify as appropriate to suit your individual body and needs. The aim of the class is to empower participants to build connection and trust with their own bodies by safely and compassionately exploring yoga together.

The class is taught by Olivia Pattenden who completed her 500 hour teacher training with the Devon School of Yoga and has gone on to further training, including in Accessible Yoga. Her approach to sharing yoga is about bringing people together and creating collaborative spaces where people can meet themselves where they are and celebrate themselves as they are.
