Debbie Calleja-Atkins

I have been passionate about alternative medicine and bodywork from a very young age.  Today, as a practising yogi, yoga teacher and alternative therapist,  I am dedicated to empowering my students and clients to understand their bodies and discover the gentle power of the healing arts.

With my therapies, I strive to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal. I am always looking to integrate new treatments and therapies into my practice and understand the importance of continued learning.  This is clearly reflected in the range of therapies I offer my clients and my commitment to progress.

Therapies I offer:

I will mainly be offering Reflexology and Indian Head Massage sessions but a full list of what I am qualified in and insured to practise can be found at

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic therapy that has been practised for thousands of years, using ancient Chinese massage techniques that target specific pressure points primarily, on the hands and feet.

It can be referred to as ‘a combination of acupressure, energy work and massage all-in-one. It works to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, releases built-up tension in your body and helps the body to detoxify, so it can be restored to its natural state of calm and equilibrium.’

Quite often our bodies are thrown out of balance, and we have to deal with the unwanted stresses of everyday life. Reflexology works to restore to those imbalances, to get you and your body back on a healthy, even keel.

The Chinese believe that reflexology stimulates the body into healing itself by improving circulation, reducing stress, pain and restoring natural balance.

Did you know that there are in fact 7,000 nerve endings found in the human foot. When these areas are targeted specifically during a reflexology treatment, this stimulation will work to restore unbalanced energy levels as well as helping to heal a whole host of niggling ailments

Whether you’re suffering with irritating digestive issues or unpleasant back pain, reflexology is a great holistic remedy to heal your body back to life.

How does Reflexology work?

Reflexologists refer to maps of the feet to understand which part of the foot corresponds to different parts of the body.

Certain areas of the feet can be targeted to non-invasively stimulate other organs in the body. These maps enable the reflexologist to tailor treatments to specifically aid the body and its organs to realign energetically, reinforce healing for a broad range of conditions, stimulate functionality, release tension and improve circulation.’

Reflexology can be used to treat a host of health issues, from back pain and arthritis to migraines and menstruation. Reflexology will strengthen the immune system, prevent further illness and breathe life back into your body, making you feel balanced, positive and full of energy.  It can also help with facilitating conception as well as supporting the mother during pregnancy.

Indian Head Massage

What is an Indian Head Massage?

Traditionally practised by women in India, this therapy is a safe, simple yet effective therapy that not only promotes a healthy scalp and hair but also provides relief from aches, pains, headaches and symptoms of stress.

When we are stressed, tension accumulates in our body, often showing up as a stiff neck or shoulders, eye strain and even hair loss.  Indian Head Massage works to help unknot and release blockages, relieving and releasing the build-up of tension.

The effects of an Indian Head Massage are not just physical, but also emotional; calming the mind, promoting relaxation and relieving stress.  The aim of the treatment is to rebalance the body’s energies leaving you feel fresh, light and restored.

As an ancient proverb states, “A happy mind is medicine, no better prescription exists.”
